Katz’s Delicatessen in New York

If you need a late night snack, go to Katz’s Deli in Lower East Manhattan. It’s an institution. A family run business that was born in 1888, when we walked in, we thought we’d moved into something from a different era. The place exudes charisma, Al Pacino style.  It turns out When Harry Met Sally’s famous, “I’ll have what she’s having,” scene was shot there as well.

Packed with all walks of life, authentic and original, you’ll cue up behind one of many lines, but you’ll also get served really quickly by one of many friendly staff behind the counter. It’s self-service there. We ordered a cold roast beef sandwich with pickles and mustard. Fresh and juicy, and more than enough for two, it was gorgeously delicious. Go there you won’t regret this classic experience. I’d go back any day. Don’t forget to take cash with you!
